Program Objectives

 

The following are the program objectives for the CLEAR Outcomes Research Program:

Program Objective #1: To investigate new and existing theoretical conceptualizations of leadership and develop a comprehensive taxonomy of current leadership measures used in many academic disciplines interested in leadership, including healthcare.

Program Objective #2: To investigate the evidence for specific organizational and individual interventions to develop healthcare leadership in individuals and organizations.

Program Objective #3: To investigate the mechanisms by which specific leadership styles and practices influence the healthcare workplace environment, and healthcare provider and patient/client health outcomes.

Program Objective #4: To analyze the impact of leadership on health systems, nursing, and patient outcomes.


Through the objectives of the research program and the supervision of graduate students, Dr. Cummings’ program continues to build research capacity and leadership knowledge.
